In Case You Were Wondering ...

Why is Melody waiting till December to have her tonsillectomy?

The reasons behind this decision are quite simple.

  1. I will not be allowed to work for 2 weeks. At all. My doctor will not release me to return to work until I have a follow-up with him. Taking 2 weeks of in the middle of a semester would be an absolute nightmare. By waiting till December, I already have two weeks off and won't have the stress of wondering what is going on and what I am coming back to. My only concern will be to get well.
  2. This surgery is much harder on adults than it is on children as are most things in life. I have been told this by my ENT, my coworkers, my best friend who had the surgery and pretty much anyone else who has had it. Without a set time of having to be back at work, I will be the better off for it.
  3. Being single, I have to rely on others to assist me ... therefore, I have been working a schedule out with my parents so they can come up and help get me to and from home from the hospital. They will also take me back home with them to recuperate so I'm not stuck here by myself relying on friends and family to have to disrupt their schedules to check on me.
So if you are inclined to pray for me ... please pray that I stay well between now and then. I am so susceptible to things right now. And I really have no desire to be sick every other week. The Lord has shown me some ways to protect myself from further illness and I'll share that in the next post. But for this moment I wanted to give you a brief explanation on why I am waiting.

I pray you have blessed day!

I love you all!!

- Melody Faith
