The Last One for the Year ...

... At least that's my plan.

I feel like I am all the time announcing time away from social media ... ha ... but in light of my surgery next week I think it's best. I have been prepared to feel truly awful per my doctor and per the testimony of past tonsillectomy patients. I'll be honest I have a lot of anxiety about the recovery that I have thrown myself into a major organizing and "decluttering" episode at my apartment over the last few days.

I finally unpacked all of my jewelry from when I moved to my apartment over 3 years ago. Some pieces were saved for sentimentality, many were thrown away because they are broken, miscolored or absolutely unwearable, while some are sitting on a table today in the cafe at the campus where I work with a sign that says "free to a good home" and the ones that made the "cut" have been displayed in my bedroom so I can actually see what I have to accessorize my outfits with.

My bathroom cabinets no longer hold 3 or 4 unused bottles of random shampoo/conditioner sets that I am never going to use nor do they hold multiple tiny samples from Sephora and Ulta of the latest "it" product. I sell and use Arbonne. It's the best stuff for my face bar none and I was able to use the space to actually put my makeup bag up after using it! :) Tonight, I will do little final organizing, cleaning and then my room is finished. 3 years after moving in. My closet ... well it's holds my clothes and stores stuff that I can't figure out what to do with at the moment. Stuff that can actually wait till the summer to organize.

I have two final projects to turn in tomorrow night and then my first semester of grad school is officially in the books. I have 6 semesters left and then I will have my master's. The semester went by much more quickly than I anticipated it would. So I know the other 6 will to as well.

I have so much mentally on my plate but for my peace of mind I am going to push that aside and just focus on getting well after my surgery. You'll have to check with my family for updates on how I am doing as I do not plan to post anything. This is the best time for me as far as work and school goes to have this surgery but personally it's an awful time of the year to have the surgery. I mean, it's Christmas. So I believe I need to shield myself from the merriment on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram while I recover. I may be wrong but that is the approach I am taking for now.

If you would like to pray for me here are a few requests:
1. Traveling mercies for my parents as they travel to and from Knoxville.
2. Dr. Mathison and his staff.
3. Dec. 17th ... tonsillectomy ... still don't have a set time.
4. That I will be a gracious patient, know how to accept help, know when to ask for it and who to ask.

I am going to leave you with my verse for 2015. The Lord has certainly used it in ways I could have never imagined this past year.

"He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see what he has done and be amazed.
They will put their trust in the Lord"
Psalm 40:3
I love you all and pray you have a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!!

Blessings ...

- Melody Faith
